I’ve progressed from canes to talkers to wheelchairs to electric wheelchairs for the last 25 years. Having one of these chairs would have saved me a bunch and I wouldn’t have a basement full of medical stuff.
I have a lift on my car for a much heavier electric wheelchair, this chair will allow me to go in anyone’s car that could fit a stroller. I’m sure I will be getting lots of questions as I’m out and about.
The new scooter is interesting. On the second day I took it down the hill and through a footpath with the locals walk their dogs. The path is paved with crushed gravel which it navigated with some aplomb, together with several footbridges which it also navigated well. When I got to the other end of the path there was a short steep hill out that had been recently topped up with gravel. There it faltered. While it does have pneumatic tires, its ground clearance is only about 5 inches and the tires are narrow. While the engine is up to the task, it has an AI sensor system, which realized it was going nowhere and promptly shut down. Sometimes, safety is just a pain in the butt. I was able to reverse back to Flatland and turned around to go back to we came. The footbridges were little rougher going back but that gave me some time to consider how I was going to get up the hill. I had entered the footpath on. Fortunately, I had a straightaway of about 50 yards or so and was coming out straight on, so I reached into my biker past, laid on full throttle (6 mph), pulled back on the steering handle and hit the hill hard. I just crested the top and got my front wheels on the paved sidewalk before the AI had a chance to respond and shut it down. 2 feet on the ground and a little push was enough to put it back in safe territory. I think I read it will handle an 8 degree grade but in my experience, you never know until you try. I'm going to enjoy this ride. Next up is a 5 miler to the grocery store. Most fun I have had since my stroke.
First time out last weekend. Went to a car show, scooter is all as advertised! Had to maneuver in a crowd, on inclines and through a rough grass field....all NO problem!!
Pretty sure I'm gonna love it!
Just wish I opted for the rear view mirrors, I made a mistake when ordering.
Great love it
Just what my father needed. Very simple to operate, charge battery and very sturdy and comfortable. High-quality product at a great price, nothing compromised. Customer service was 10 stars as well.
