I’ve only had my new wheelchair for a week and it is already a game changer!
I love that as an ambulatory wheelchair user who is trying to be more active, I can switch between a walker and a rollator whenever I need. I’ve already been getting more exercise because I don’t have to use a wheelchair for the entirety of longer distances out of fear of my health acting up. Now I can switch between the two at ease!
Some of my other pros and cons:
Pros:
- Long driving distance between chargings
- Comfortable hand controls for people with chronic pain like myself
- easily folds up into a relatively small space in a car
- lightweight for an electric wheelchair at only ~45 pounds without the removable battery
- Light battery makes it easier to charge
- Feels much more stable on a lateral slope compared to my old wheelchair (going sideways instead of going up/down slope)
- Smoother, less bumpy ride than my old wheelchair
- Runs smoothly on flat grass
- Handles relatively steep slopes surprisingly well (though does gripe at you for doing so)
- Rainproof, according to advertising!
- comes with two storage options, the pouch on the back + an under seat bag (not pictured here)
Cons:
- says in instruction manual can’t go in temperatures below freezing, which could be a problem when I’m soon moving to a colder climate. Might be limitation of any wheelchair with a similar battery though
- 4 Set speeds instead of a dial, and first 2 speeds are way too similar and slow, at least when outside. However, the joystick is speed sensitive to how far you push it in a direction, so you can somewhat overcome the only 4 set speeds by having a lighter or heavier hand to vary your speed
